Slot Machines

I went to the casino yesterday and had a blast, even with the pain. I had to register because I hadn't been to this casino before and I was pleasantly surprised. I received two free meal vouchers worth $18 dollars each and as long as I played for an hour or more, which I did, they said they'd send me a voucher for all the money I lost up to $100 to use on my next visit. So I actually won a chance to try again. I know, I have to use it there and its not cash BUT I still have my food vouchers which are good for a month so I planned to go again anyway. So it works out. I can actually AFFORD to go again. Pretty cool in my opinion. I'm going to take my husband with me next time and he'll get the food vouchers for himself so we can stay the night and have enough meals free so we don't have to pay for that. Plus this casino mails you stuff like coupons for free nights at their hotel so we may end up with our room comped as well. Not a bad place to go since we're not in Vegas.

Anyway, I've written and submitted two new things. One short story and one poem. Since I don't have any school work today as its Sunday I'll probably get to writing again. I might work on more erotic verse as I just love it. Its a much harder area to publish in but its been done and even if I can't sell it I can always post it to my free to read. :)

Now I think I'll make some lunch and get to writing. Thanks for being a reader and supporter. I really appreciate all of you.

Pain: 9 out of 10

I have an ear infection, had if for a few days now. I've never had pain like this before. The entire left side of my face aches so terribly. It's all swollen and pressing against my teeth causing bad tooth pain as well. What's made it all worse is the fact that the ibuprofen isn't working anymore. Right now, as I write this, the pain isn't driving me insane. So I thought I'd blog! Ah! Nothing better. lol

Right now my husband and I are watching "Harald and Kumar go to white castle" The last time I seen this was with my best friend, lol. Night a big fan but every once and awhile movies like it are helpful to my sanity. If that makes sense.

Well, I think I'm going to go get a cigarette before the pain returns and drawing on one becomes too difficult.

Whats the hardest topic to write about?

I find that an interesting question. To each writer its different. When it comes to erotic writing this is a critical point. If you write about a topic that bothers, bores, or humiliates you then its not a topic you should be writing. So I got to thinking, what topic is hardest for me? I can't write m/m homosexual stories. Not that I find anything wrong with them, or homosexuality in general, I just know nothing of the topic. I wouldn't know where to being. Besides, that doesn't "do it for me" so the work would suffer. Write what you know, as the saying goes. So if anyone is reading this I'd like to hear what the hardest topic is for you.

Research

Research is a crucial part of any novel but oh so nerve wrecking lol. I've been putting off working on my novel for the past couple days. It's not writers block, I've been sick and that's aggravating. I've also spent a good amount of time going over my last story and comparing it to what I've been reading. It's all good learning lessons and the important thing is keeping your head up and not giving up.

Anyway, I also have three papers do so I need to get them done asap. After I finish those I'll get to work on the novel. I don't think I've mentioned this before but the novel is based on a nightmare I had about six months ago. I woke up absolutely terrified and thought to myself "Wow, that would make a terrific book." So, that's what I'm doing, I'm writing it.

Supermarket Satisfaction (New Story Free To Read)

I've posted another story to my Free To Read page. It's an erotica story about sex at work. I had submitted it to an anthology but I got the oh so dreaded rejection letter today. I thought about saving it and maybe submitting it elsewhere but I realized I didn't have any erotic free to read stories up so I figured I'd just share it.

Rejection letters are hard, especially when your confident in the work.  Though I can't complain, my story was just published in the e-book "The Bad Girl's Sweet Kiss." Oh well. Anyway still working on the novel and still doing research on literary agents. I've been sick since last night and I think its the flu. My joints hurt terribly, but I won't get into all that here.

Literary Agents?

Well I mentioned before about working on a novel and I realized that I'm going to want a literary agent. Nothing against what I have been doing, submitting strait to small publishers, but if I want to have a chance at my book getting in the hands of a major publisher I need an agent. So tonight I was shopping around, looking at my options and I've found a few I like. I bookmarked their pages and will be contacted them once my manuscript is finished.


I'm really excited about this book, and to be honest I've kind of gone a different direction with it. I've decided against erotica and am going in a more romance theme. Of course it will sit better with major publishers, but then again Erotica is becoming so mainstream that it would work as well. I just don't think Erotica is right for THIS book. As I've been developing these characters I'm realizing who they are and what their not. Isn't it funny how that happens? How we tend to create a character and it takes on its life and we loose control over what their capable of. I think that is the most fascinating and wonderful part about writing.

I notice I'm getting viewers from the Netherlands, I find that very interesting. If your one of them drop a line! I'd love to hear from you.

"The Bad Girl's Sweet Kiss"

New Story

I've add a story to my "Free To Read" page. It's called Megalomania and I've had it up on Helium.com since around March or so. I really enjoyed writing it but I posted it to Helium in the middle of the night and had forgotten to proof read it! Ah, well, I posted it again with proofing because I wanted to give you guys something to read today but I don't have time to proof it till tonight. So tonight, I'll go in and proof it, and re post it. If that is a big deal to you just wait till tomorrow to read it and all the tiny mistakes will be gone. lol

I had a really rough night last night. I didn't go to bed till 2:30am and then was back up at 5:30. *yawns* lol  I've got a lot of work to do today. I have to write a paper for my forensic photography class, proof read like 6 different stories, work on my novel, and then I get everything ready for Halloween. Oh what wicked good fun!
